seals blowing out
ok guys, an engine that spit white smoke with oil in the collant means a blown seal, but what seals? where are they located?
Could such a thing make really bad compression? Just like a blown Apex seal?
Could a blown apex seal affect the seals so that it starts to leak.
thanks a lot

I dont know how it would effect compression...but if you are spewing white smoke and burning coolent..
Well it's you water o-ring that are bad !
Seals may or may not be allright..but the sooner you fix it the better

Dude, the engine needs to be totally torn down and redone, if you're lucky and haven't warped a housing or something along those lines. It's probably not something you'll be able to handle yourself in the driveway. But if you really wanna see where the seals are you should look it up in the engine section of the shop manual...

well in fact, i am asking this for someone else who blew is engine, he though it was a apex seal but he saw that there was oil in coolant and coolant in oil. That is why i wondered that maybe his apex seals are still good...

If the o-ring has gone, then at this point, it doesn't matter whether the apex seals are still good or not. Your still gonna need an engine rebuild. But another possibiility is the coolant lines to your turbos. If they start leaking, I'm not sure whether they can enter the turbos themselves or not, and vice versa with the oil running through the turbos.
