no, none are, they feed to the back of the engine bay to cool the turbos and master brake cylinder, you CAN order one without the pass-through and cut the non-functional front scoop out like the OP is considering doing.

another thing to note: Seibon's hood openings (scoop and vents) are less agressive than other manufacture's.

Here are some pictures of the original for reference.
Koseki-san from Scoot has done some testing of the cheap hoods vs his original design and needless to say none of them come close to the amount of cooling and the fitment of the original hood.

I can only speak for seibon. The scoop is just a hole and not ducted to anything. If you look closely at my pic you can see right through the scoop.

My VIS hood is just like montego's hood, but the vents are bigger. The hood is slightly taller than stock because of this design.

The vent is just a hole. Air will flow toward the alternator and then onto the UIM.

The replica that Rotary Xtreme had on group buy way back in 2003 was very similar to the original Scoot with duct going all the way back. I always noticed that the newer replicas that came out afterwards like the Seibon had much shallower louvers and front duct with wire mesh inside. That group buy was certainly not cheap back then when there were no other options for a Scoot replica hood.

^^ yeah thats why even tho im rocking a chaser hood and fitment is alright, i dont mind cuz its one of the more aggressive versions...
miata mx5- after looking at your pics mine is quiet similar except that ducting on the back those holes are larger, mine are just circles with a like 1 in diameter?.. sorry ive been slacking ill post pics up today

Didn't know that was your car Andrew or I would have said "Tabarnac!" Is that the same filter you had a Gordon's BBQ last summer? Looks larger to me.
Jesus is building a "ram air" setup for my filter so I draw cold air from the outside instead of the engine bay. It's going to be pretty cool and I'll show it to you at DGRRX.

.
hehehe yes it is the same filter as the one at Gordon's BBQ David.
I'm curious to see the new set up of your airfilter and the shrouds around your front sexy lights!
To get back to the subject, the chaser hood is, i believe, the most agressive as stated above, but the fitment is not perfect. Especially if you put it with a 99 spec platless front bumper. the front gap is pretty big to my liking. I'll try to get some pics to show you guys.

A couple of you guys said you were designing a way to duct the air to your filters. Have you guys made any progress?
Another forum member just purchased a Seibon hood and the center vent runs to the back and dumps the air. If you guys have that style of hood how to you expect to channel the air to the filters?
