is it safe to drill holes next to seem on the sides?

I installed some side skirts and want to add a few screws to hold them better, is it safe to drill small/shallow holes next to the seems that are on the sides of the body, underneeth...a few inches towards the outside of the seam is what im thinking.

if you can't picture what im saying, there are seems that protrude from the car body that run along both sides of the car, on the bottom edges of the body. the space between that seem and the edge of the body is where the side-skirts sit, so that is where i want to add some self tapping screws, but I am not sure if fuel and/or electrical lines run inside the body on the edges there.

all fuel lines are external and visible from under the car. ( Assuming no custom lines have been run. ) They are encased in a plastic cover to keep it "protected". Electrical would be a guess so i won't go there.

My sides are tapped into that area. ( If i am picturing it correctly) I don't forsee any issues. I will check it out tomorrow to see for sure on mine.

That's the best i can do for now

Which ones did you get? ( Or did I miss that thread?)

As you I too do not know if there are cables running where you want to drill but one thing is for sure on my side. I will never drill any whole in the body of mine.

All wires run inside the cabin. AFAIK there are no wires inside the rocker panel. As long as you stay outboard of the seams you described you should be in good shape. I have Apexi skirts screwed on there and have had the interior apart to Dynamat and run stereo wires.

Dave

I got the F type from rotaryextream, they do not go up the side of the car like bigger side skirts, they are just small addition to the bottom of the body, here is a pic with a car that has them on:

VENKMAN "Egon, somehow this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole in your head. Do you remember that?"
Damian you shouldn't have any problems as the others have described.
