I think I mentioned this on the 20b thread...
We're going to have an Rx7 get together in Chris' memory tentatively set for the second weekend in August. Rich Farrell, Ihor and I will be there to start.. I'll also post in the NE section where more people knew Chris. I'm going to host it at my house near Bethlehem Pennsylvania.
I'm going to see if Chris' dad will let me have the car for the event. Many, many people have a part they sold or traded to Chris. Thought we'd take a group picture of as many people who contributed either parts or labor or whatever could be in the picture and could write down what they did for Chris. We'll put it into a package and dress it up for Chris' family.
In addition, we'll have a barbeque and swimming and car talk and photos and maybe swap some parts and whatever else comes to mind.
Please post your interest or ideas.

Im in 100%.Ive PMd Rich when this tragedy happened and actually headed up to Rochester only to have my car hauled back(true rx7 owner).Although I didnt know Chris whatsoever,I felt obligated to attend,but I just couldnt make it all the way.My apologies Rich and whoever attended but I figured I tried.Hopefully this time well be able to get together in his behalf.Once again,R.I.P.

I am very sorry to hear this terrible news. 
I never met Chris in person, but I talked with him semi-regularly via AOL IM. I looked forward to our late-night talks which might range from the nuances of dual stage injector setups (like on our FDs) to girls to careers... you name it. I am sorry that I never got to meet him - I'm sure we would have gotten along quite well - he was easy to like.
Here's a funny CCarlisi story... So... my wife is sitting at my computer with my AOL IM loaded up. Chris messages "me" and figures out that it is actually my wife due to the slow typing response time, so he decides to ask "me" some questions about how things are going with my GIRLFRIEND!!!! hahahaha.
My wife was pissed about that one for the whole day - thinking that she had uncovered my secret mistress. It was just the sort of joke that I would have played on him had the opportunity arisen!
The next time I look at my AOL IM and I see his username "Offline" it will really suck.
You are missed.

I won't let go
Wow...just wow. It's my unfortunate luck that I didn't know him nor speak/chat with him but from everything I've read I can say that it's a truly great loss to the community. My condolances to his family and friends.

Guys, just to clear up any confusion:
Chris passed away due to apparent complications from his diabetes (he was a type 1 diagnosed at age 7), along with a chance accident that led to his falling in his bathroom in such a way that he asphyxiated while in a coma.
He passed away at a very young age, with so many great things to come in his life, not the least of which was roadracing his 20B, something he really looked forward to. He also wanted to marry his longtime sweetheart Marisa, and was on his way to becoming a force in the financial world. This was a horrible accident, and tremendous tragedy. I know I won't recover from it anytime soon.
I hope this serves to answer some questions....mike, john, ihor, gordon, feel free to add anything.
Btw, Ihor, thanks for posting that pic. It was taken in April of 2007 when Chris lived in Charlotte NC, Ihor and I drove through a torrential downpour to visit Chris and see his apartment and office building where he worked for DB. Definitely happier times......

I just drove past Chris' old apartment in Morristown last night in my FD, I made sure to rev out 1st and 2nd gear like I always used to when he lived there. Miss ya bud......

I met Chris when he was looking for a 20B for his car. I actually sold him the 20B that he put in it (sometime in 2005). As we discussed terms we got to talking about what each other does for a living. At the time, he was still in school (law school if I remember correctly) and was seriously dating someone. I say this because I told him he better get all his toys before he got married as all us know how that works.
I had a couple of complications shipping the engine to him but he guided me to use Mandeville shipping company to get the engine to him (I lived in L.A. at the time). The shipping company f***** the engine up by breaking the TB, elbow and smashed the oil pan (the engine was in pristine condition before I sent it). Chris and I worked out the problems (I sent him a replacement TB and elbow but he let me slide on the oilpan) and everything turned out the way it should have.
I wish he was around as now I have moved on from running a 20B sandrail to drag racing and autoxing an FD here in Boise and would love to hear his stories of pain and tribulation with all his years of experience.

It's a little spooky that Alberto (gracer7) should have the Carlisi memorial motor that Ihor and I built for him started up today for the first time. Coincidence? Probably. Still a little odd.
Edit: I was thinking this morning that I haven't found anybody to take the place that Chris had wrt to our love for these cars, the conversations we used to have, debates over the merits of modifications, tire sizing, etc. We rarely agreed but he always gave me an alternate viewpoint.

Spooky indeed. I didn't plan for it to be done on the anniversary of his passing but by coincidence the car is running. Picking it up in the next couple of hours.

Missed this until today - Chris certainly was a pure, no compromises RX enthusiast... and the thoroughly complicated (and rationally sound) logical arguments he could create to back up his decisions were incredible.
When he had his reasoning sound and mind set on something, there was no argument strong enough to make him waiver. Kudos for the tenacity, Chris - a rare quality in our compromising world.
I'm frankly surprised that an entire year has passed since he left us. His memory hasn't faded a bit in many of our minds.
We lost a good one last June 5th.
