Oh and the car isn't totaled and I don't know why you're hating so hard. You especially having two CYM's. Don't you rather want this car fixed and restored than junked??

Fyi. Loan won't be a problem for me. If 10 grand was hard to come by then I wouldn't own an FD. I just don't want to be paying high *** premiums so I rather just get the loan and pay it off in a year with tiny interest.
He's not hating at all, WTF are you talking about?? Hes trying to give you good advice and I agree with what hes saying. That car looks wrapped up, I'd also get another one. You can get alot of your money back by parting that car out and then you can get a nice clean car to start over on.

I have to agree with what other have said. You can find a nice rolling chassis for well under 10K and can swap all ur drivetrain parts over. Just look at your options before you go throwing money into this car.

I don't think nobody is hating on you. People are just giving you advice and option on what you can do so that you don't end up making a bad decision.
-But at the end it's still your decision.

I can see why you want to repair the car.... It's a RHD, it's legally register and insured, (if correct to what you stated) then by all mean do the repairs on it.

However, 10g is still a substantial amount if you ask me...

Depending on your record., (Tickets, accident, etc.) insurance prem. will definitely go up as this is an at fault collision claim. But that's why you pay insurance to take care of the damages, so that you don't have to come out of pocket 10g...

In my opinion, at the end,..-- I still think paying off those interest + the 10g loan will be higher than just having your insurance take care of it and pay $50-$100 more a month.
(Again rates going up depends on your driving and claims history...)
On top of all of this, you still have options to shop around for insurance that will still give you a better and lower rate.

But then again,... if you have liability coverages only on the vehicle, then I guess the loan is perfectly okay...

This sucks, sorry to see such a clean car get wrecked. I hope you get it back on the road or replace it with another FD just as clean. Having said that, if you ever decide to part it out, dibs on centre pod, headlights.

I think it was cuz your rear wing didn't give enough downforce. Time to upgrade to a GT wing like MX3

That's a crying damned shame there....worse thing about it is you just KNOW everyone that saw this sort of sniffed smugly to themselves and said, "Serves him right! Damned kids and their Jap-a-neze cars!"

IMO make sure they place the entire rear of the car and don't just pull out the dents.

My first FD was all beat up on one side from the wheel well back on the drivers side corner. That collision shop chose to cut the whole 1/4 off and put in a new one because they did not feel they could match the other side due to the curves. Its tricky to recreate and you can tell when its been done wrong.

How much is the insurance company going to give you to fix it, and what's your deductible? If there is no frame damage, I would keep it.

Okay I started this thread to get ideas on new side skirts and or front bumper or what not. So far I've gotten not a single post with that advice.

I shouldn't have said anything about my credit or anything. Truth is that I'm 22 and people will doubtfully hate. So I'm gunna do what I want with my money. I don't like it when people try to "Help" yet I didn't ask for financial advice from anyone. Thanks but I got my stuff in fine working order. I'm still in school, work, and have two cars. I don't get money from my parents. I work and invest to make all my money. I don't have a lot of it, but I'm not struggling. So please don't worry about it. The car will be fixed because it's worth it to me.

Sorry to hear man, at least your okay, Feed sides, 99 wing and RE street diffuser would look good, but like everybody else said do you really want to fix a car that hit a tree, I don't think I would like to drive a sports car knowing I have a ton of bondo all over, but is is your ride and you must be really attached to it and that may be why you would rather fix it than buy another, Goodluck it should all work out in the end.

I hit the telephone pole at 5-10mph. The trunk is damaged but my body shop said it wouldn't be a problem to fix it. There won't be any bondo. Rear fenders will be cut and welded and trunk will be pulled. I've done work with this body shop for over ten years. I trust them. They're never fucked anything up before.

If my body shop told me to get another roller, I would but it will be hard to find a rhd cym roller. Not to mention right now I like having matching numbers.. not like it'll matter after the repair anyway.

Ya Dawg, keep that **** mad tyte JDM Yo!!!!!!!! It seems that the RHD is the main reason you want to keep this shell.

Now that i got that out of my system... You are only fooling yourself if you believe that you hit that pole doing under 10 mph. That looks exactly like my car when i got rear ended by a guy doing 40 mph. You asked for advise on the rebuild in you original post and that is what people are giving you. How you want to spend your crazy dough stacks that you barrowed from the bank is up to you, but dont make a foolish decision just cuz the car is RHD.

it's a shame to see a clean Ohio FD get busted, but things like this will happen.

I would take nice long day to sit and think about the car. While I understand your attachment to it there was definitely some serious damage done to the rear. There's not much value in having matching numbers when the car has been cut up.

As for the redux of the car (even if you buy a roller) I vote wingless with the small Shine duck-bill spoiler and diffuser.

sorry to hear about your ride. It's too bad you don't live in southern ca. I know a body shop down in tijuana mx that could get that ride back on the road for about 1K + paint costs.

Seriously I friend of mine bought a lincon navigator (it was back in 2002 IIRC) for like 4K. It had been rolled over once and it was declared a total loss hence the cost. The car had 20K miles on it, the roof was damaged but wasn't smashed. Anyway he took the car down to TJ and another 4k later, he was driving a rather nice 50K car that he spent 8K on. Granted he had a salvage tittle but it didn't matter really.

Well its your money and not anyone elses so do what you want. The fact is that no one was there and everyone is judging that the car is "wrecked" based off of a picture. He went to a body shop (hopefully one that he knows is legit) and they physically saw the car and told him that its not that bad and is fixable. Let the man do what he wants with his car. If he wants it to be hot pink with a 7 foot wing (please God dont) he can do it.

I say go wingless. I did like the look from some aftermarket wings but I started looking at more and more wingless ones and like that look better. Good luck and cant wait to see the build thread.

lol you guys are crazy.. that car is not near close to being totaled.. put it up on a rack and check the suspension. from what i see it needs from bumper, rear bumper and some body work.. thank god that the wing got destroyed . as for the 10k i agree with the rest.. taking a loan to fix a car is not the smartest move but that's you. Good luck with her and be thankful that you're in one piece.
