RX7 Vs Skyline vs NSX

Hey Everyone,

The file is way to big to attach here, but if you do a search on whatever file sharing engine your using the name is: Mazda RX-7 vs Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34) vs Honda NSX. Downloaded this off Kazaa the other day. Long *** video(a little over 9min) pretty long download, but well worth it. Rx7 goes up against some pretty stiff Comp on a track in japan. (god how I envy thier jobs)

If youve seen it....cool, if not...enjoy. If it takes forever to download, go change the oil in your 7 again and bake a cake or something.

I get my FD in a few weeks I sold my other a few years ago (big mistake) Watching vids like this get me all sorts of fired up.

Laters,

Brick

P.S. Pettit air seperation tank or bypass ? Any disadvantage to either ?

Damn I wanna see! I just did a search with morpheus and couldnt find it.

I saw ur question in the bottom, do a search, people will flame you for not searching. There was a recent post on this about the advantages and disadvantages. Do a search with "AST," I'm still thinking about it as well.

the NSX is the fastest car in Japan in a straight line race, according to the Japanese. but the FD is the fastest Japanese car on a track.

I believe the Skyline top the NSX in every aspect besides weight...

I am a semi pro circuit race driver and own both an R33 GTR V-Spec and a pretty much stock 93 FD3s. Around UK circuits the FD was as quick as the Skyline, and that HAD to have big AP Racing discs and six pot calipers on the front to make the brakes last more than 1 lap. Both cars were run on stock wheel and tyre sizes, both on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres (note the CUP bit, these are Michelins road legal treaded race tyre. The Skyline and FD had optimised castor and camber for track usage withing the range of stock adjustment. The Skyline is a great technical achievement, but it is very heavy and lumbering. I get through a full set of tyres and a pair of front rotors (13.5 inch by 1.5 thick) and a full set of race pads (Performance Friction 93 compound)every track day with the Skyline. The FD, on stock brakes but again with 93 compound pads will make its tyres last 3 track days, and the pads last 3 as well, albeit the brakes are marginal.

FD is now stripped down and going single TO4E and Motec M800 management. It will make the R33 look daft after those sort of mods. Summary, in my opinion the Skyline is great, for a big heavy brute of a car. It has a lousy, weak gearbox, and the build quality isn't a patch on a Supra MKIV TT. The FD is a lithe and nimble machine, build quality similar, maybe a tad better than, the Skyline.

To me the NSX isn't a track day car, not enough grunt for its weight, Lovely build quality, ovely engineering. Just not fast enough... I speak from personal experience of a 92 NSX too, a manual none targa model.

FWIW, i was suprised by the Skyline R-34 being slow. i thought it would be faster. i forgot which mag it was, either C&D or MT, that tested a MotoRex R=34. they got like 5.3 0-60 and high 13 second quarters. for being AWD, you'd ex[ect iot to be a bit better in the acceleration. also, it weighs 3400+ lbs.

and..."i hate Hondas"...why is this??

The magic of the skyline is that very quickly (and loads of money later) you have a 800-900+ HP AWD beast thats streetable. Thats why and when the skyline really shows how much of a badass it can be. Just think, Nissan 300zx, upgraded turbos (dont know what ones exactly) intake, intercoolers, upgraded injectors, remapped ECU. Buddy of mine has a 600 HP rocket that makes me look downright silly. True theres no way to launch without cheater slicks but AH! the skyline is AWD. Just think of having the easy upgradability of a supra, with AWD, AW steering, its what a dyno queen supra dreams of being able to do, actually tear *** on the street while staying in control.

I still love that race that has the Evo VI, WRX, NSX type S, Nsx Type S-Zero, RX7 type RS, and the GT-R V-spec. The GT-R get a shitty start or something so hes in the back most of the race. Its just funny to see what its like driving all thoes at high speeds, They are working hard in the EVO and the WRX, Both NSX guys are counter steering all over the place, while the rx7 and the GT-R drivers look effortless. GT-R catches up in the turns but loses ground on the straite, kinda funny..GT-R actually honks at the NSX and the WRX manytimes in the turns, almost seems too effortless.

You cannot believe how many Honda try to race me when I get home from work...they just don't seem to get it...I also hate those stupid clear tail light conversion...is it just me or that is the ugliest thing i have ever seen, yet people still maage to buy it and put it on their cars...

ironically, no hondas have been trying to play with me. in fact, when i thought one integra that drove up to me on the freeway wanted to race, he got next to me simply to indicate he liked my car. i smiled and waved "thanks" and then he dropped back. its kinda weird.
