Ah yes...forgot about that one.

I actually raced one the other night...That guy was freakin' FAST. Both our cars had all the bolt ons with stock turbo's. He beat me off the launch, and at 4th gear, he started to walk away good....

...doesn't help that my clutch is slipping and I may have a blown engine

BADASS. Details please? Sort of like bolting an H22A head on an H23 bottom end (just citing Honda motors as an example)?

a friend of mine has a silvia modded 240. he also upped it with 18 PSI a garrett t3/t4 turbo and a good size FMIC. at the drag strip with his DP removed his best is a 9.2xx ..... then he threw a rod. said he had traction issues (one tire fire)
long story short my best that same day at 8# boost easy driving, first time to the track, was a 8.7 83MPh in teh 1/8

Also you said your friend was going to turbocharge his SR20DETT which wouldn't make sence since the motor is already turbo. In the US we have the KA....it is the KA24DE or KA24D depending which year 240sx it is.
Don't quote me on this ..but I believe that even though it's a single turbo they still call them SR20DETT's

Yea don't forget the CA. Though it's the little brother to the SR some people really like that motor. From what I hear it is a really high rever...but it is easier to find SR parts.

But remember what the thread is about it is the comparison of the two cars.

No matter what you do to a 240sx....it will always be a 240sx. So what would you rather pull up in when you go to a nice restraunt? FD or 240sx?

Yea, we all can dream NEO. The S15 is definetly a HUGE step up as far as the 240sx goes...even the interior is classy and damn...it's just a well made car.

Ok .... after all these freaks yakking about nissans and friggin engine codes ... lets answer your question.

You should be able to take your friend still ... He won't be able to get 400 rwhp without some major mods ... not to mention cash. So i wouldn't worry about it.

You have a pretty good setup to begin with anyways. Get some 1300cc secondary injectors, a fuel pump, and get some dyno tuning. Up the boost and you shouldn't have to worry about him for quite a while.

True a FD can hit low 12's with bolt ons....240sx if lucky can hit a 12.8 with bolt ons.

The job isn't that easy since the coolant passages don't line up and the RB30 never had variable valve lift. Having said tthat it's been done so many times now there is a standard procedure for it. Ever wonder how those GT-R's get to 3.0 /3.1 litres? It's an RB30 block. RB30 rods have been proven many times to take over 700hp. In fact there are a few 900HP+ RB30ET's in OZ.

I have smoked quite a few S14's and S15's without any problems. But then again with my setup, if I got beat I'd be ashamed to ever tell anyone. As soon as I get my fuel injection problem figured out I wanna try and find a Skyline to play with. Best of luck with the race bro. You should smoke him very easily!
