RX7 S7 Overheading / Coolant Gushing Out Of Overflow Bottle

Hey guys,

So heres the deal on saturday I drove my car for about 2.5 hours and it was all fine then the next day i drove it back from where I was and got to about a hour of driving, stoped for gas and drove off again. around 15 min later the stadard temp gauge was rising... which i no the standard gauges are crap and dont work properly anyways haha. So I pulled over and turned the car off, I looked under the car and it had dumped the coolant out through the over flow. I filled it right back up again (once it was cooler) and drove off, around 2 min later the temp was rising, i manually turned the fans on but nothing was stoping it from rising, i stoped again and turned the car off and it had dumped the fluid AGAIN!

I didnt see any white steam soming out the exhaust..

Anybody have any ideas.. Im praying its no a coolant o ring!

champagne test, coolant system pressure test, we cant know anything without that, search next time. Probably blew the engine though.

if ur overflow tank is being over filled after the engine is ran, it could be ur radiator cap. also doing the champagne test would be a good idea! get the leisle funnel ( its yellow ) when u pour in the coolant, run the car with extra coolant in the funnel ( dont forget to out the heat on full blast ) if you u notice small tiny bubbles coming up into the coolant thats in the funnel than ur o-rings may be bad, which then you would have to pull the motor out and pull the housing apart ( NOT FUN !! )

Use a pressure tester to check for leaks. It could be a split AST, a split hose, or something like that. Make sure the fans are turning on.

Once you lose coolant, refilling the system isn't as simple as pouring in more. Lots of air pockets occur. Check for leaks, check you caps, fix whats needed, and search for proper refilling technique.

Cheers guys, Im trying to sort out a leisle funnel but no one in New Zealand sells them. Dam them! ill have to get one from the states.

Ive got a after market AST but the weird thing with it is it doesnt have a "nipple" at the neck for a presurized cap to block it off untill its up to pressure. i think i might go buy another AST
