rx7 new engine,,,idle problem,,,,

ok guys,,,ive now got my rebuilt engine running now,,,after 1 month of playing (someone had put the ignition sensor plus wrong way round)...
any way to my problem,,,,car starts fine,,,,runs nicely at about 1800rpm,,,for 3 mins,,,,,,,,then i hear a click from under bonnet sounds like air pump clutch switching off,,,,,car idle drops to 800rpm,,,runs fine for 20 seconds then stumbles and stalls....now when i restart engine it only runs on one rotor,,,,

im thinking possible injector leak,,,,maybe,,,
any ideas???

i doubt its an injector leak. If an injector was leaking that wouldnt stop a rotor from turning over.. Have you checked for spark on the rotor thats not firing?!?

i dont think theres any problem with spark plugs,,,,why would it run fine in fast idle mode,,,,,and a fuel leak would flood out the rotor under low speed,,,,,any more imput guys,,,,any body with similar problems?

Fast clicking? Sounds like it's coming from under the intake manifold?

ISC (idle speed control) solenoid.

ignition pickups?? if your main pulley ( bottom large pulley) has any buckle to it, it could be hitting the ignition pickups just in behind it causing them to fail therefore causing the car to stall out.
