hey guys
i have never owned a third gen 7 but am interested in them after driving one a while back.
i found one a 93 base i believe or touring not sure the difference.
it has black leather, red exterior, cd, sunroof, 74k on chassis 12k on new rebuilt engine, orginal turbos , orginal clutch. it has some basic mods blow off valve, different radiator, catback, downppipe, midpipe, turbo timer etc...

I'm gonna get hated for making this blanket statement, but...

I personally wouldn't trust the mods made by someone who puts an aftermarket BOV on stock turbos. This car has just enough mods to put it in the category that might require tuning.

I agree with dgeesaman.

Those mods are too much for the stock ECU, and in most cases too much for reprogrammed ones unless its a stand-alone ECU.

Things to do:
> Compression test @ Mazda dealer using special rotary comp tester.
> Boost guage test (Found on robrobinette.com)
> Find out WHO did the aftermarket installs and who replaced the motor

Yeah, definitely find out who replaced the motor. My FD was fine for like a month or two after I bought it. But due to a crappy rebuild done by the previous owner, it lost compression and when I pulled the engine I found out the extent of the shoddiness of the rebuild. Can't even rebuild that engine so I had to get a new one.
