Only Touring and PEP models came with sunroofs.
1993 touring models came with metal sunroofs.
1993 base/R1 had no sunroof option.
1994 touring models came with glass sunroofs.
1994 base/R2 modes had no sunroof option.
1995 introduced the PEP (Preferred equipment Package) and offered a glass sunroof.
1995 base/R2 models had no sunroof option.
You can replace the glass with metal or the metal with glass if you have the stock setup. Many RX7's have an aftermarket sunroof. If your car has a sunroof and does not hve a rear wiper or leather interior, you most likely have an aftermarket sunroof.... or your hatch and interior have been changed.

94 touring, whoot! I would loooove to get one of those shades though. When its hot, it feels like the sun is sitting on my forehead (and I'm a shorty Filipino too).

Yeah, well not quite as complete as what I wrote above. In '94 there was also what was known as the Popular Equipment Group option that included a steel sunroof.
Rare is a relative term. According to the figures I've seen, in '94 there were 1,688 Touring models with the glass sunroofs sold. 295 of them with an automatic transmission, and 1,393 with a manual trans. There were also 910 cars with the Popular Equipment Group option which included a steel sunroof sold as '94 models in the U.S.
At the same time, there were only 395 R-2 U.S. models produced in 1994.
So you're more likely to see a glass sunroof than you are a '94 R model.
