Hi friends! I own a 94 rx7, and I wonder if some Rx7 has come with stock glass moonroof, ´´cos mine´s is made from steel I guess, and i have seen some which has a glass one ( transparent) like this one





does it comes stock in some rx7´s?

Yes, some did come with a glass moonroof, but finding one is not going to be easy.

Like afterburn27 said, they are OEM equipment, but quite rare. I'm acutally currently sourcing one for a customer, and I anticipate it to be quite expensive.

Originally when I got my 94 FD, I never liked the mismatched color of the glass on Silver.. I liked the steel roofs more, but it's grown on me..

 

You guys are making me feel special. I have a 94 with a glass sunroof, its black so the sunroof blends right in.

 

I have a 93 with a glass moon roof however it was aftermarket installed. The company that makes it is called Hollandia and I had a bitch of a hard time fixing it (bought it with a broken motor) because it does NOT use the stock motor or rails or anything!! So if you truly want a glass roof the one by Hollandia will work, but be warned it wont be easy finding any parts for it.

From my research the Glass roofs came with the touring models in 94 and 95. The models with out Bose and fogs came with the metal roofs.

Yes you are correct they only came with the touring models and my question is does anyone have any sort of cover that slides closed when the roof is closed. I know it gets hot as hell in my car with the glass roof.

 

My car has a panel that covers the sunroof inside and is removable. I'm sure its a stock piece and you should be able to order one from Ray at Malloy, if you can not find a used one.
Ramy (fdnewbie) may be able to source one for you.

 

I would like to see a pic of this panel cover if anyone has one to post. I have always wondered if there should be something there, but NO ONE ever has one to compare.

You can get them from mazdarecycling.com from time to time. They are getting harder to find. I got mine a few years ago off a 94 touring model.

 

I have a 93 R1 with a moonroof. I think is was installed as a custom order at the dealership though.

 

my 94 touring has the glass sunroof. they're not technically moonroof cuz the detachable cover does not slide nor hidden within the roof of the car when the sunroo isf opened.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought this glass top comes w/ all touring models. ?? R1 and base come w/ color matching sunroofs. Base model may get this as an factory option?

 

from what I was told it was only a option for the 94 turing. I had on on my 94 turing auto. but 94 pep has a steal top so yeah I think your right

 

Watch the for sale section, one went for like 350 but 275 if you traded your steel roof. It went....real fast.

 

To clarify: the glass sunroof came only on the 94 touring model. 93 touring models had a steel sunroof, as did the popular equipment group model in 94. There was no touring model in 95, only the popular equipment package which had a steel sunroof.
