Rx-8 4.444 gears

Does anybody know if the ring and pinions are interchangable between the FD and the RX-8? If so i was going to cinsider putting the factory 4.444 Rx-8 gears ( or complete diff if interchangable) in my FD. I read the honda s2000 and rx-8 ring and pinions are interchangable. I would think this may be a good swap if so for the people running larger wheels and not liking the tall gearing.

If anybody has any information on this it would be great. Otherwise I will do the research and find out.

The FD would crack the RX-8s diff like an egg, even if they were swappable. If you want a shorter rear end, you can install the 4.3 rear end from the JDM performance models.

the 4.1 rx8 gears are the same part number as the FD gears.... so it should swap over no problem. 4.4 is really short though

S2000's ring is 7" in diameter which is the same as 4.44's and 4.78 gears that Im using in my FB and RX-3. FD has 8" IIRC, so it wont work.

i just read on a japanese blog that you can use the rx8 ring and pinion on the fd, so it may not be true. the guy had pictures and and a good writeup though. seems like a lot of trouble for a prank, but then again some people have a lot of free time.
