It's not easy or cheap to make 900 rwhp by any means on a stock internal 2JZ, but it can, and has, been done.

When you lift the head off a car isn't that now modified? I thought that "stock" meant untouched internals. The cams, porting and thicker headgaskets aren't classified as "stock" are they? That's always been such a grey area to me.
Those kind of stories are the ones you read in the magazines and on the internet from the new companies promoting themselves. It's good promotion......but very misleading except for the people that know

Thats VERY true. A lot of times they throw in the ultimately confusing "virtually". "This car is making 700hp on a virtually stock motor." If you don't really read into it then you think no cams, no valve springs , etc. Virtually stock makes it seem like the only way that its not stock is if you've done something to the crank, rods, pistons, etc.
virtually - adv.
1. In fact or to all purposes; practically: "The city was virtually paralyzed by the transit strike."
2. Almost but not quite; nearly: “Virtually everyone gets a headache now and then”
It's the second one that gets me. "Almost stock but not quite stock"....who defined this word? Thats why that word makes everything vague. It's a trick to hide the truth from the fools.
