I love these quotes. I remember, the first time I saw an FD, in '93-94. I was 15 or so years old. All I could think was, "I want to get one of those some day". Man, I feel lucky to have one of these

no **** right? thats how i feel as well. other people's dream cars are out of their reach because of insane price tags that they'll never afford. i like to say the task of acquiring our dream car, the RX-7 was realistic in that sense.

i also love this thread so far, awesome quotes all around. keep them comin guys! ill see if i can find any when i get a chance.

ive recieved a lot of nice comments about my car. But im gonna share the one BAD one...

At a fundraiser car meet/show with a lot of rich people...

-(6year old boy to me): "Hi thats a sickkk car wow!" (remember there are lambos all around)

-(Father wearing a Porsche hat): "No son, its only a Mazda" and starts pushing his son away.

I thought it was hillarious and couldnt stop laughing for 20 minutes

I still remember when first I saw a Rx-7 in the dealership in 1995. I was 6 years old and never forgot that day.

Since people are reminiscing about when they first saw an FD...

When i was like 15 (1995) i was in a Best Buy and they had the Panasonic 3DO game system on display with the very first Need for Speed playable. The cars were the FD, Supra, NSX in the first group, ZR1 vette, 911, and viper RT10 in the 2nd, and a Ferrari 512TR vs a Lambo VT in the 3rd class. I saw the FD and was like damn thats cool, and in the game they had real time videos featuring the cars and their specs. Fell in love with the 7.

So a year or so later im driving on I4 heading to Busch Gardens Tampa and get behind a purple NSX. My friend and i joked around doing the Waynes World "we're not worthy!" bowing thing. the owner saw us, put a thumbs up out the Targa-top and ripped forward with that NSX exhaust sounding nasty. i told my friend i was going to get a car faster than an NSX one day. he humored me and was like, ok man.

Went into the AF and after a couple yrs i got a 1993 black on tan touring with light mods. the very first car I run into to play with...? A friggin' NSX. Whooped him with a huge smile on my face.

Brought the car home and asked my dad if he wanted to go for a ride in it. he's like "oh can I have a ride in the Japmobile?!" [sarcastically, as he is a muscle-car guy] I said lets go! Get outside the neighborhood and get ready to turn right. I look over and asked him if he was going to put on his seatbelt. he replies "oh!? you're gonna scare me with this lil ricerocket huh?!" I launched with all the might my car had, and i look over. (it was only a 109mph car) My dad is scrambling for his seatbelt in super slow motion. I'll never forget that.

So now i really want to finish my new FD before he dies...(he's sick) and see his face when Ive got twice the horsepower as before. EMTs on standby just in case

I still have an original 3 page looseleaf ad I had on my wall before I moved from my parents home. The FD came out when I moved from Texas to Cali in 93 for school. I vowed that when I finished college I would buy a truck and an FD for $12k, lol. I was a little off on the price.

Funniest thing I have heard was " You're no Vin Diesel" from the state inspector guy in St Louis

Also "Zoom zoom ***** *****" from a kid riding shotgun to some Fbody driver. I still to this day don't know if he was trying to be cool or insulting, but I found it hilarious.

This came from a round up comparing used cars.

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/carg...s_espirit.html

"Driven at this pace, aided by a tight gearbox and reassuring brake feel, the Mazda is more exhilarating than the TVR, more demanding than the slow-mo M5. It’s a shame that it feels more like an appliance at low speeds. In the Mazda it’s all or nothing. "

I love you mazda.

That SCC article was before the proliferation of water and meth injection, things have definitely changed for the better in the past years....

We know man. This was in the dark ages. The quote still holds true for that day.
