RX 7 Door Sills

Where is the best place to buy the metal Mazda door sills that have RX 7 etched in them?

jimlab 05-30-05 06:19 PM

The same place that anyone who bothered to search on "lowest prices" and limit the search area to the 3rd Generation Specific forum would find...

FDNewbie 05-30-05 06:35 PM

LOL Jim...some things never change ;)

Mike, try Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda. 1-888-533-3400. Oh and FWIW, I have the sills on my FD, and I may very well go back to the stockers. The aluminum door sills are real thin and scratch & scuff real easily, making them look not so good...

XSTransAm 05-30-05 07:35 PM

yeah mine are pretty scuffed up... i wonder how well sanding and rebuffing them would work?

Hyperite 05-30-05 07:38 PM

Mine look good after 3 years installed... i always hated those black squeeky pieces of shit.

I like Jim's even more without the gold RX-7 branding.

Except for the fact that the search feature isn't working right now.

Considered a set of carbon door sills?

http://www.atihun.com/pictures/sills/carbonsills.jpg

As far as longevity, I've had mine on the car for several years and they have no scratches as of yet. Also, they look great on a black car. :D

Bullshit. I used it immediately before making that post and turned up several threads listing Malloy Mazda.

Um, yeah... so did I.

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /search.php.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

jimlab 05-30-05 07:55 PM

Then that's your problem, not mine. Works fine for me. Multiple times.

Back off Jim, the search has been spotty for a couple of weeks. The forum has been in general, with a large percentage of the forum experiencing proxy errors and such.

atihun 05-30-05 08:01 PM

Fortunately, it's not my problem. It is the server, so go search off.

And again... guess the search feature must be working after all.

Quickfini 05-30-05 08:01 PM

I get the same proxy error too.

Try Ebay. I've seen a few sets of those door sills there.

"Spotty" does not mean "not working". When at first you don't succeed, try, try again...

Since it seems to be working fine for me, is there anything you'd like me to search on for you while I'm at it? How about "how not to stick your fucking nose where it doesn't belong and get it bitten right the fuck off?"

After seven tries, still the same thing.

And who is sticking their nose where it doesn't belong? Last time I checked, this wasn't your forum.

Why don't you just shut the fuck up and stop acting like such a pompous asswipe.

And, please go and bite yourself. :)

I did, but I thought they'd scratch easily! Looks like I chose wrong haha. Please do tell where you got 'em from.

Jeez, that really hurt my feelings...

My response was 100% accurate, and moreover, my not-so-subtle hint to use the search feature (and exactly how to do it) would have given "Mike M" the ability to search for himself in the future. Instead, Ramy hands him the answer, enabling him not to have to expend even the slightest amount of effort to help himself, and you start whining about the search feature not working... when it obviously does.

So let me get this straight... You make some carbon fiber door sills and all of a sudden you're someone whose opinion matters? No, I thought not. Take your opinion and shove it up your ass, pal.

Usually I agree with your bashings, but the last few weeks the forum has been running like a FD in the desert. :D Not only has the search function not been working for me, half the time I get a proxy error when I try and make a post.

It seems like some people have been fine, but for some odd reason a lot of people are having problems. Look at all the threads in the Lounge and Suggestions Sections about the problems. It is also kind of discouraging since no one has stepped up to explain what it going on.

Damn...Ramy was just tryin to be helpful. You know how frustrated I've been w/ the search feature on and off? BUT, I gotta admit prob THE MOST PUBLICIZED # on the internet as a whole has GOTTA be Malloy's. Heck, it's been posted here maybe 500,000 times :D

So let me get this straight... You make some carbon fiber door sills
Atihun, you made the sills? Got any more? How much?

I have a pair of Atilla's carbon fiber door sills and they look great. I haven't put them on my car yet though because unfortunately it's at Rotary Power for repairs.

Right words, wrong order. It was due to my lack of tolerance for your stupidity. I got tired of you jumping to make a negative comment on practically every question I ask. I mean hey, I'm not the one PMSing... If you're gonna help someone, just do it already. No need for the unnecessary comments.

turbojeff 05-30-05 08:47 PM

I bought some of the CF door sills, they are sweet! I only wish my painter clear coated mine instead of painting them:(.

Oh and the search function doesn't work well for me either.

Yeah, right. You cast me off, because... um... I wouldn't answer any more of your stupid questions or put up with any more of your annoying "I want to participate in this thread, but I really don't know what the fuck you guys are talking about, so I'll just ask a lot of useless questions" method of participation. Please say you'll take me back.

Apparently, you're not the one absorbing any information, either. Several people have agreed with me privately that you're one of the laziest fucks in the 3rd gen. community and that you inevitably use the excuse that you're too busy to learn anything when confronted about it. 5,000+ posts and you're still just a goddamn drain on forum resources...

Cast you off? Lets not be so dramatic. You kept on makin your unncessary comments, so I commented back. You threw a tantrum and said you don't like me anymore.

Jim, guess what? I really don't care. You and your "forum friends" can think whatever you like of me. We see the forums in two very diff lights. I'm still not sure what you see it as, but I see it as my source of knowledge. I read things, and ask questions about what I don't understand. Sure, I may not have something to contribute to the thread re: information, but I have just as much a right to asking a question in it as someone contributing info to it. That's pretty much how a forum goes ;) If you don't like it, that's really your (and your "forum friends') problem. I know a 1001 ppl who have privately as well as publicly on this forum an in person have expressed their negative feelings toward you. They suck it up. Learn to do the same.

5,000+ posts and you're still just a goddamn drain on forum resources...
Too bad...you're just gonna have to deal w/ it, cuz I'm not goin anywhere anytime soon... On second thought, if you're so sick of the forum, why don't you just move on?

poss 05-30-05 09:10 PM

The search doesn't work for multiple work searches for me. Single word does. Jim, are you able to search multiple words?

Anyway, I think Goodfellas just posted the other day saying that Ray@malloy had these on special for a limited time.

Everyone shut the fuck up and quit your bitching. If I become rich one day I am going to pay to fly your forum mother fuckers out to a huge wrestling arena. You will then fight to the death for a prize. Then we will see which shit-talking jackass could really talk. Anyone can talk shit about people on a forum, you probably will never meet these people in real life. So everyone get the hell back on topic and quit your damn pussy ass bitching you damn 10 year-old girls.

 You know what's funny? As babyish as it is to resolve stupid conflicts by fighting lol...I couldn't help but notice that the vast majority of ppl on the forum that I've met are pretty much smaller or a lot less athletic/built than I am. I'm talkin about most ppl are 5'4 skinny guys lol. Ppl talk a LOT of trash they physically can't back up, because on the forum, it's a level playing field (post counts don't matter THAT much, Jim. The tuners themselves have like 200 posts total over 5 years or so). The only guys I've met that look like they'd def. give me a run for my money are Dave (FD3Boost) and prob Dom (HDP).

POS7 05-30-05 09:25 PM

You have to search "titles only". If you search under the whole message option, it will give you the proxy error

Well, self proclaimed super-duper-moderator, that sure was a helpful post. Obviously, it wasn't/isn't working for most people.

And your opinion matters at all? Not really. Once in a while you'll have something intelligent to say, but then you just shit all over it. You were wrong, but not enough of a human being to admit it.

Let me give it to you straight: Y o u a r e a d u m b a s s . Yea, I'm so hurt that I don't have your approval to post on the forum... riiiiiiight. (oh, was that a jim-ism or just a jism?)

Watch out. He'll give you bad feedback! OMG! LOL He just did that to me now, and he did it to me twice from the last thread. Keep 'em comin Jim. So predictable...

One day, you'll figure out a lil secret I learned long ago: your rep rests w/ those who KNOW you, not imaginary "forum buddies" ;) And that's why I helped Mike out and posted a reply, and why you didnt.

Does it mean more when you space it that way? Why don't you do something more useful with your time and shine my shoes or take out my trash or something. I'll give you two bits towards a new set of wheels for your car. How'd that be?

Lets see...I said "I guess" so I showed I'm not an expert, and I put my hypothesis down. What, you want me to conduct an experiment or do research to verify? lol. I just don't see how slamming on your brakes when going STRAIGHT will send you NINETY DEGREES sideways. Pulling to one side, yes...but then you're talking about poor alignment, bad brakes, etc etc. For something to make you spin like that suddenly, he musta slipped on something. And it turns out I was right. He was leaking coolant all over the place. Braking caused him to slip ON THE COOLANT (not dry asphalt) and THAT sent him spinning. Anything you'd like to add/clarify here Jim? Cuz I'm STILL holding it as a hypothesis, meaning I'm open to learning something here.
