Running rough ans very scary, please help!!

Ok im in a predicament... I changed the wires and plugs tonight cause i had a slight miss and jump. two of the wires looked old and two were new. i put the first coil to the top front plug, the rear coil to the rear top plug, and the two in the middle on the bottom plugs. they were ngk wires and were a bitch to get on to the coils. I took the throttle body off and the elbow off.

now the car runs but very rough and doesnt rev. it feels like there crossed somehow but i was extremely careful.

1)can i harm the engine with crossed wires

2)do the boots interfere with connection sometimes. i pushed them on as hard as i could but i never felt a "click like the bottom plug ends. PLEASE HELP!!

Is the map sensor plugged in correctly? Its possible that you could have knocked the wire loose while working on that side of the engine.

def the boots not being on the plugs. When you put the boots on, use a paper clip and use it in the boot when sliding them on so that it gives you some room to move. Still a bitch but once you think they are on, you need to wiggle just a lil to make sure.

I rechecked it twice. all the plugs are fine and im 99 percent on the wiring...

top front=front coil
bottom front =top middle coil
bottomrear= bottom middle coil
top rear= rear coil

this is correct?

The only other two things are i didnt put the boots on goo enough on the coils or i left the purge control vacuum line off on startup. would that have put me into limp mode?

Also one other thing... When i took all that stuff off to get to them i reused the gasket. that should be fine right? it was metal and in decent shape. I dont think i joslted or dislocated any wires. I didnt even take the throttle body off just loose so i could get at the coils. I will try to redo it at home tonight I just ran out of time and patience last night and have to wait til 5 pm today. thanks for any ideas.

well in my own experience in the last week...i cahnged plugs...didnt have TWO boots all the way on so the car started but was shaking all over and died. Then it flooded. Then in the process of connecting the boots securely they barely disconnected from the coils. (magnecore are very short) so i was getting a nice arc. Fixed all connections and then had to deal with the flooding. I ended up getting all new plugs because the ones in there were dryed after being wet but all the fuss mighta fouled them out or something. New plugs and deflood cure my problem. Now onto the next!

I had a map sensor come off... five minutes, a wire tie, and a ECU reset and im done.

however i STILL have a slight lag and decrease in performance. its so slight that im wondering if im crazy but...

the TPS is spot on as decribed in this thread...
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...osition+sensor

the wires, plugs, and air filters are new. i have had to change plugs 3 times in the last few months(5000miles?) I have to put the fuel filter on and then it should be right. Im wondering what else. it bucks harder than usual at 3krpm and is jumpy on and off the gas. other than that it has a SLIGHT surge at idle. it seems like a small thing but im running out of ideas. It ran PERFECT for a while/8k miles and i want to make it continue. this isnt a major deal but i am not skimping on it. O2 sensor maybe? what else to check? I wanted to get it perfect before i sell it or modify it either way i go.
