running rich or worse?? need help

so when i idle and drive i can smell fuel and i'm not sure if its because i'm running rich or if something is leaking.

i have a ported motor with 3mm apex seals built from pettit, full bolt ons, 255 walbro fuel pump, 3"downpipe, 3"high flo cat, 3" apexi exhaust, intercooler, i'm only running at like a 8-6-8 patter right now, it dropped to that from 10 when i put in the intercooler.

i was wondering if since i have all these mods without a tune and running 2lbs under factory boost if i'm just running kinda of rich or if its an oring on the injectors or something of the sort, everything on the motor is from pettit and only 3 years old. when i got the car dyno'd it was around 295 with 250tq and the afr's were in the 11 range which i know most people shoot for but still i think its running rich because the smell of gas seems to come from the exhaust mostly. i dunno.

any advice would be great guys.

I've always heard that if you can "smell" fuel there could or "should" be a fuel leak somewhere or something funky with the tank. Is the "smell' of fuel new? when did you notice it? Also maybe the ic caused a pressure drop and the stock pills (if thats what your still using) aren't holding boost good enough, so maybe a substantial electronic boost controller would work better. Are you running the petit ecu or the stock ecu? the stock ecu does kinda run rich, but if the smell is new, then probably not causing the smell from being rich. I have a stock ecu, noticed no smell whatsoever.

its stock ecu and well the smell has been around for quite some time. it just kinda got a bit stronger after getting a larger exhaust.

i have the 99 spec twins, but no boost controller. i was contemplating whether or not to go manual or electronic.

Are you able to smell the fuel in the cockpit with the windows closed (at idle and while driving)?

The car is equipped with a diagnostic connector that you can use to check for leaks with the car off (and even with the UIM off). It should pressurize the system and you will be able to see, feel, or smell leaks.
