Running the Fuel Pump

Someone in another thread mentioned that a good way to test for fuel leaks is to jumper it in the diagnostics connector, and run it for a minute or so while looking for leaks.

Has anyone done this?

Which pins should be jumpered to do this?

I'm assuming that FP is Fuel Pump, but I'm not sure where to jump it to.

Jump F/P to GND then turn the ignition switch to ON for 10 seconds. You should be able to hear the fuel pump running. Turn off the ignition switch, remove the jumper. That's for priming the fuel system. I would think since you're pressurizing the fuel system you'd be able to find any obvious leaks that way.

Thanks, I'll check it out tomorrow.

Been in the garage all day, off to pizza and beer now.
