Runnin too lean!!
your a complete ****** moron... do u have any intentions of stating your mods so that we can evaluate your car??? your avoiding all questions that relate technically to your car, this tells me that ur an idiot who doesnt even know what he has
the retard that told u itd be fine to run a modded FD on a stock ecu should be severely beaten and then burned
oh and now ur sayin that ur faster then me?!?! give me a break... i eat lil dipshits like u every day

Who is ELITE???? Do they specialize in rotary engines? If they dont specialize in rotary and have vast knowledge of 3rd gens your in trouble man.
Here is the deal, the stock ecu runs off a map and thats it, the is no maf sensor or any of that to make adjustments for airflow. You are running the same exact fuel/timing that a bone stock fd came with right off the show room floor.
The only thing that is going to safely support the mods it takes for 430rwhp is a stand alone setup like the Power FC, Haltech, ect..
Its hard for us to recommend important things like this when we dont know your set up. Its not like it matters, none of us know you so why cant you tell us the set up??? Most everyone around here knows what everyone else is running, its no big deal.
If your runnin 430rwhp either the dyno was wrong or your running a huge single turbo setup, expecially at the boost your talking about. A set of stock twins on a fully tuned motor at 18psi can make close to 390 and that right before they melt.
Who did your compression test and what did it come back as??? Do you know the actual numbers??? Its very important.
What air/fuel ratio was your car tuned to??? If you were dyno tuned surely you know that info.
Hope this helps a little,
STEPHEN

I'll tell you another prob you might run into. When a Power FC is installed there are 4 wires from the engine harness it doesnt use. You either pull (or cut) them out of the wire harness or you pull the pins on the Power fc so there isnt a connection.
When you reinstall the stock computer you need those wires. If they were cut in the harness your not getting them, it they were pulled from the PFC your ok.
Do you know which way they did it???
Like many others, I'm also curious why your sold your PFC and are there any other devices like a additional injector controler on your car to add more fuel???

Also man, dont be scared to take our advice, I promise that some of us here know more about the 3rd gen rx7 that 99% of the shops in the US.....and to be honest I doubt ELITE is part of that other 1% cause I for one have never heard of them and we all know most of the rotary spacific tuners in the US.
Believe me its a fact, rotarys are picky with tuning and most shops dont have a clue.....eventhough they would never admit it.

TwinTriangle My Man,
What else did you sell besides the PFC so that you could afford this car?
Come on! What esle did you sell?
Admit it, you sold the seats, dash, steering wheels, airbags and door liners so you can afford this car. Hey, wait, it's still two more weeks till the welfare check arrives. Guess you might have to sell the side view mirrors now. [Damn! I'm so bored at work even though I've a shitload of work to do ... may be I'll get back to punching the license plates again]

i just have to post cus that guy is an idiot.
i don't even have an FD, and for everyday for a long as time i wish i did. Hopefully i'll be able to buy one very soon. I've been literally searching and reading on this message board as well as other helpfull sites just to learn about the car i don't have.
Then you get guys like this who own what i've always wanted and has no clue how the damn thing works...now that gets to me.

Go buy a air filter from a lawn mower dealer. If you can't increase the gas restrict the air. The route your going you will get less than 2 HP at the starter motor. Sell the car to some one that cares and buy your self a tricycle!
I know exactly how it works, Its just the fuel system on an FD is a little more complex than an FC and It confused me why a car would suddenly decide to run lean with no warning. seems strange to me, as far as i know the fuel filter has never been changed and after doing that it starts and idles fine but it idles slightly slower than it usually does and it is running too lean for a rotary, this I know...thanks for all your criticism and you have been absolutely no help, :-)
Kill this thread mods please!
Dood if you havent gotten the picture by now...then you shouldnt have an Rx7 let alone a FD....Its simple...Buy an aftermarket ECU or blow up ur motor and then sell the car for like 6-7k to a guy like me that actually knows how to maintain the damn thing...BTW i highly doubt that ur making 435 rwhp even if it is on a single (not on 12-13 psi anyways)...You wanna know what i think (no
) i personally think that if u cannot afford 1k for an ECU then honestly (not flaming at all) you should sell the car cuz there is no point in having it if you cannot afford to maintain it running well...
Just my 0.02...

I don't believe you own an FD...just a Civic with Efini badges on it...
lol thanks for the help girls, most of you have been very uninformative and only one of you has actually helped, You cant tell me that none of you is on a budget, if its an ECU I really need than ill get one, when money allows it, for now Ill drive it like it is because it isnt gonna hurt it anyway, for those of you who think so, eat my mother ****** dust...
You are either a troll or one of the most ignorant individuals to join this forum I've seen in my 8 months here. I have more respect for the idiots that come on and want to know about Veilside kits and 19" rims as their first mods. It is obvious you do not want to listen to reason and the collective experience of the forum. Go away.

OK, I admit it, everyone here is an idiot and is wrong. Your stock ECU will be fine for your mods, drive it as it is until you can afford a better ECU.
BTW. Here is the number for Malloy Mazda, you'll be able to get a decent deal on this special part that you will want to get next.

Yea, the fd fuel system isnt complex but the intake and tuning setup is alot different. The 2nd gen uses a mass air flow setup and the 3rd gen does NOT. That means that a 2nd gen will adjust fuel based on how much air is coming into the intake and a 3rd gen does not.
Anyway, man we can all tell you from experience that the stock ecu is only good for 11psi of boost runing stock twins which is no where near 430rwhp, its not even close to 300rwhp.
Man I'm telling you its going to be bad, there have been 100's of people come onto the forum with busted motors for not replacing the stock ecu.
If you have larger injectors which you must, with a giant single turbo, which you would have to have to run 430rwhp at 13-14psi of boost you cant even use a upgraded ecu like the pettit. Your going to need to fully tuned standalone like what was on it before, thats why it was there in the first place. Well if you turn the boost way down you might be ok with the Pettit unlimited chip, it'll make for a decent bandaid till you get a standalone system.
If you really did dyno 430 at 14psi of boost I'd like to know what turbo you were using. We have many many single turbo guys and there is enough people here that just about every possible turbo imaginable is being ran and I dont know anyone turning 430 at 14psi of boost.....that i can think of anyway. There are a few runnin 400 at about 15 though. If you dont want to post it would you PM me and tell me???
Personally I think the reason you got so much power out of it at that boost is cause its lean as hell. Thats not a flame I'm just saying thats what I think. Believe me when i tell you there are ALOT of shops that tune way too lean for a high hp turbo rotary cause they are used to piston engines. You cant run the same a/f ratios with a turbo rotary, it has to be much more rich.

i still wanna know why he got rid of the power fc in the first place?why wont u answer?
also stepping aside from being a dick about this all.u have to tell us ur mods so we can diagnose this problem.if u want help u gotta help us by letting us in on ur mods?

Maybe it's not running lean, maybe the engine is already blown and the O2 sensor is reading all of the free oxygen in the exhaust from the non-firing dead rotor.
Non helpful my ***... plenty of people are trying to help, some much more patiently than others.
Oh well, like someone else said, this is how people find cheap FDs.

I thought that at first too but he said he had a compression test and it came back good.
What were the compression test results? Who did it, did they know what ther were doing? You sure its not just flooding? Check the plugs, in a high hp rotary they only last around 5K miles. If you flooded the car your going to have to change plugs. When a rotary is flooded it just sits there and turns and turns and turns.
How do you know its not getting fuel? What have you dont to come to this conclusion?
Man, we need to know some stuff about your car to help with the probs.
STEPHEN
