Unhappy rpm gauge wackyness

hey i just got my 93' r1 out of the body shop today. it hasnt been run in probably 5-6 weeks and the RPM gauge is not reading out accurately. Im wondering if the car just needs to be driven a bit or if i should take the dash apart and reset it. also any tips for turbo timer installations are welcome. thanks guys.

well its reading out like 5-7 thousand rpms at idle and the engine clearly isnt high like that, audibly everything else is funtioning normally, and my boost is accurate.

I have sort of the same problem, the tach needle jumps around,

there was a post about this matter, the gauge cluster having cracked solder joints, a wire in the front getting cut into etc....

I haven't had time to fix it yet though...
