Rotary-Works 90mm TB

Just received my 90mm Rotary-Works TB such a great piece can't wait to install it and test it, too bad it will be a while since the car is still hybernating.

And I thought I was done with this car...LOL..

I am very tempted but got too many parts that I NEED to buy already.

Is it longer than the stock TB?

so this eliminates the transition from primary to primary+secondary ports and you lose intake charge velocity affecting low end right? is it significant enough to be noticeable on a dd street car? is it even an issue?

another thing, there are people making crazy power with the stock tb, why change it?

It is a long thread with many parts, but one of them is the TB. He tested it on his stock DD car and noticed 10RWHP

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=877729

Great looking TB to say the least. I just can not decide what the best route to go is. The way I see it you have several options.

1)Modify the stock TB like BDC. It keeps the same size butterfly, and removes some of the obstructions.

2)Modify the stock TB like the Feed unit. Larger butterflys and I guess you could still do some porting work like BDC does.

3)Get the large single TB like above. The single TB has less surface area to slow down the velocity.

4)Leave the thing alone.

I personally do not know what the best method is, and I guess it might depend on how each car is modified, and what it is used for.

I have been bouncing back and forth between these four choices for a bout two months now.

Another month and I get to test this thing.. For me I would rather run this TB than a modified stock one, but that's just me...LOL

This one is actually cheaper than a modified stock one that are being sold.

I am interesting in hearing the results too. For some reason Rotary-Works is not on the forum and his posts have been removed. Too bad he had some pretty nice stuff on the go :s

You can send it to me and I'll test. I'd be very curious to know about the drivability of it as well given the secondary comment.

Looks interesting but for the seq twins guys it may not be worth it. Making the low end suffer for a possible 10hp gain at the top end dosent sound good.
