Talking Rotary Performance Invoice and Boost Question

I picked up my car this weekend after Bret finished some work I had him do for me. Here is a listing and cost of the work done. This should be a good basis if anyone wants to have similar work done to their fd.

I recently bought a pair of turbos from a member of this forum, he claimed they were from an RZ but in fact they were from a RB. Cant trust everybody.

Problems I was having.
1. Zero boost on Secondary Turbo
2. Extremely rough ride. (82,000 miles on car)
3. Check engine light (egr code)

Invoice:

Toe Links 230.00
Trailing Arms 189.00
Koni Shocks 589.00
Eibach Springs 239.00
Install Suspension 162.50
Turbo Install 357.50
Turbo Gaskets 107.80
Turbo Trouble shoot 130.00
soleniod 55.85
egr valve 183.20

Total with Tax 2,304.82

The problem with the turbos was a switched vacuum hose. The egr valve was physically broken, and one of the soleniods was not functioning properly.

My question is this. I am getting a boost pattern of 12-8-8. Is this normal? I have a downpipe, upgraded radiator and ast, and turbos from a RB model (japan) rx7.

By the way its running quite nicely now, except for an extremly annoying springy sound from behind my seat whenever I go over a bump.

If you are talking about RP in Garland, kool, I just went there and had a buncha work done too...

As for the boost, 10-8-10 is normal...different cars act differently to mods, and considering you just have a DP that could be what's causing you to boost to 12psi on the primary...If you are not getting at least 10psi of boost on the secondary it could me multiple thing...hose slipped off, clogged cat, broken/leaking check valve, messed up solenoid...a cheap way to play with your boost is the HD needle valves...there's a how to on www.robrobinette.com....they are a bit difficult to tune in if you don't know how the system works but there are basic instructions that will help...Sure others will chime in on your low secondary boost.

Take it easy and drive safe!
