Anyone who tells you that don't need some sort of instruction is an idiot. It would take a hell of a lot of track time to learn by yourself what someone else could teach you. Spend more time and read about the posts where people have totalled their 7s.

1) SCCA is a great place to learn some of the limits in a low speed environment.

2) Next would be a track course.
