Rotary experts in europe???

Does anyone know of any TRUE rotary experts in europe? I'm putting a new engine in and need an experienced rotary mechanic to do the swap. I've heard of one guy about an hour east of Munich that's a rotary guru but I can't find him anywhere on the web. My engine will be here anyday now. The Mazda dealer here doesn't have a clue...there are plenty of turbo savvy mechanics here (northern Italy), but I dare not hand my baby over to a inexperienced wrench. I don't feel like going all the way to England to go to Hurley's either. Please help...

You may want to ask the guys in the European section of the forum. I'm sure they have some clues as to where all the rotary shopsare at..

Hey ianewk,
Di dove' lei? Nord eh? Beh, io sono del Sud! Ho una casa a Benevento vicino Napoli, pero' vado all'universita' negli Stati Uniti quindi abito qui. Almeno dove sto io (New York).
N.B. Keep those pesky Lancia Delta Evoluzione and Ford Escort Cosworth's under control till I get back!!

Hey Mach 2,
Thanks for the compliment on my english...but I have to admit it's pretty easy because Io Americano...I know enough Italian to read your message but I'm hardly fluent. Io abito qui perche faccio militare...nella base di USAF in Aviano. Ho studiato l'italiano a Universita di Maryland.
My RX-7 is a '94. I blew an apex in October at an autocross event but have an engine on the way direct from Mazda. I know there's a rotary expert east of Munich but I don't have his contact information. There's a great shop in Sacile called Just (pronounced juiced) but they cater to rally cars. They know turbos but not 7's with rotaries. The owner came out and knew exactly what it was...props to him for that, but I still have my reservations, so I'll track down the guy in Germany. From what I hear this guy owns a collection of every rotary vehicle in existence! Even a couple of prototype Citroens from when the company was toying with the notion of putting a rotary power-plant in their cars. I should be getting his phone number from the guy I bought my FD from today...he's actually been there!
When I do I'll post here because it appears to be a hot topic on this side of the Atlantic.
When are you back in Naples? This summer I assume.

THE specialist in the Netherlands is Pim.

He has cars in maintenance from Germany, Belgium, France,...

Really good mechanic!

Andreas.

Ianewk,
for a second there I thought you were italian! Damn you fooled me. Anyway you're in a great country. At least for me it is. I was there up till 2 weeks ago. Spent the holidays there with my relatives. The only bad part was that I missed my Rx7. It must be soo much fun to own one in Italy. I have an Alfa Romeo 156 there, but I'd love to get another FD and keep it there as well. If you don't mind me asking, how much was yours? In Lira or Euro? (Makes no difference though). I'll most likely be taking another trip there in the summer. If things work out maybe we can meet up and you can let me drive your car! Hehehe! J/K. It would be nice to meet up though. If you use the forum regularly then I'll let you know if and when I come. Oh, as for good shops in Italy, I know quite a few but like you said, most of them aren't too familiar with rotaries. If you give them a Lancia Delta Evoluzione on the other hand, they'll make that thing fly. Well if I find anything I'll be sure to let you know. Good luck and keep those italian ladies in check!

I got my FD from a government contractor who brought it over from Texas. Don't feel bad for him though...he has a '94 TT Supra and just got a 2002 M3!!! I met him at a local autocross and offered him my first born child for his FD...he took $17,000 instead.
I know what you mean about the Integrales. I had a '91 16v Integrale that was tricked out. Damn it launched! I sold it to buy my wife a '92 318i for her daily driver. I had too many toys, she had none...you know how it goes. What sucks is that a buddy of mine from work bought the Lancia, so now I have to see it all the time. I miss that car but it doesn't compare to my 7. Can you imagine bringing an Evoluzione back to the states! People would be like..."what the hell was that flare-sided mini wagon that just kicked my ***!" Even better...can you imagine rolling up in an Lancia S4 with 500HP stock!!! DAMN IMPORT LAWS!!! DAMN THEM TO HELL!!! damndamndamn.

That guy must be pretty rich to be able to do all that. He lives in Italy now? I love the Evoluzione. It's age is starting to weigh down on its' looks but I still love it. It's a pure rally car that's street legal. Just like the Escort Cosworth. Both very nice cars and incredible performers. I'd buy one in an instant if I could import them to the States. Damn politicians. Don't let us have any of the good stuff. Not to mention all the Japanese supercars that we've been longing for (Skyline, Lancer Evo, Subaru WRX). I say we start a revolution!! J/K! Don't spoil your wife too much, you're the one that deserves the "toys"!!
