NFO1-02-100 JDM COMSO 20B SHORT BLOCK $7,290.90

At that price you cannot go wrong with that. I might get 2 at that price just to have for parts in the future. Piecing a 3 rotor together with all new parts gets more expensive than 7k. Good to know.

The $14k price tag is interesting for the full engine. I guess you get to that figure if it comes with all the goodies bolted on that each cost $40 from the classifieds or $500 each new from Mazda.

A disclaimer I did not give is just because they are listed by MMS does not mean they will show up on your door step. Many times I have ordered misc JDM parts and sometimes i get them other times I get an e-mail or call (occasionally many months later) that they are no longer available. I know the complete 13B is not available, but who cares at that price. Now the 20B, I could stock it away until needed. And i would kill for the ZR engine; years ago when the engine was about 60K I mistakenly passed on the ZR alternator and waterpumps; nice light wweight racing things.

I spoke with them a month or so ago and asked if they had any remans. they said they did not have complete engines and that they only had parts to build the engine. If I understood them correctly anyway.

My understanding is that the "brand new engines" are still stamped reman. Your guy may not be aware of that. That's according to SleepyZ who has posted on here (and moreso on rx8club), who works at the reman plant in Richmond VA and has posted pics of them.

MANA stands for Mazda North American operations and yes the US market 13B N3A1-02-200 is stated as remanufactured. I believe the ZR03 13G race engine is gone; I can not even get parts anymore. But I would expect you can still get the JDM 13B and 20B's if not from MMS then from someone in Japan.

Hey and advantage of PN ID's that a search under the 1st 3 digits on MMS site brings up may ancillary parts avialble for those engines or other mods.

I think Steve Sanders, Manager - Mazdaspeed Motorsports Developement is a little up on things.
