I sourced my own oil cooler kit using another vendors parts list
i too came up at over $ 750
I dont think its unreasonable what others charge given you get instructions and attachemnt hardware
This is how businesses mark up their products every day. Its just up to you whether you want to pay it or not. If a vendor offered a kit at the time i decided I built my own, i would have taken it bc it would have saved me the hassle of waiting for each and every little part to come and fabbing my own brackets.

 

And also take into consideration that when I introduced Dan and Heath to the president and staff of Knightsports Japan, they were VERY impressed with the quality of the kit and if it were not for the deep recession that has hit Japan and the "tuning" market they would have sold this kit in Japan as a Knightsports branded oil cooler kit. They even wanted to showcase it at Tokyo Auto Salon in 2010.

It is the most complete oil cooler kit on the market for the FD, and extremely well priced. I am a stickler when it comes to quality parts.

 

If you want a quality oil cooler kit it will cost you almost 750$ in parts only I did the research and this can vary depending on the types of lines and fittings that you will be using. Usually it only getsmore expensive. You still need to figure out the brakets. I would put the extra 200$ to save the trouble. I don't know if you have the stock oil cooler that comes with the some of the models but some people on the forum sent them out to get refurbished and they come back looking like new and have seen some major improvements on their cooling capacity.

Just my opinion and experience:
I don't work for sakebomb garage nor have I purchased one of their kit. I only met Dan (scrub) once in a meet, but I can tell you guys that the team is very dedicated to their work because when I tried to source one of their kit for my custom set up, they went the extra mile to analyse the pictures that I sent them as well as many e-mails exchange of my set up to come up with the best installation set up for the same price! I actually felt bad for not buying but something came up in my life where I needed the money and also because the custom work involved and finding new ways of passing the oil lines have to be figured out while staring at my front end for hours
