Smile Right Price?

This guy is asking 14000 for his rx7 and it has 85000 miles on it but only 5000 on a rebuilt engine. He says it was a factory rebuild and was installed at a suby dealership by a guy that use to work at a mazda dealership. Then it was tuned at a shop in Atlanta called Mazcare to fix some power problems and put on silicone hoses. The following mods have also been done to it :Pettit racing intake, Peter Farrell exhaust ,Double capacity aluminum race radiator, Column mount boost guage, cusco strut tower brace, racing beat sway bar brace. What other info should i get before i make a trip for a test drive and does the price sound to much or good? Thanks

factory rebuild will = reman. theoretically it shouldn't have 'power problems' running on the stock ECU, so question what the 'power problem' was and how it was solved. the intake and exhaust could have the ECU close to not being able to keep up with the engine, but perhaps not (depends on the exhaust).

that double capacity radiator makes it sound like at least one reliability mod has been made which is encouraging... ask if it has a water temp gauge (more out of interest than as a deciding factor). get a compression check done.

bottom line, go drive it... that should give you an idea of value more than those of us on here giving distant opinions. also, check the forum FAQ for advice on buying an RX7 and see if there is anyone on the forum from the area that could go look with you.

good luck.
