Would be interesting to see how they can hold up in the engine bay since they do offer direct replacements (more or less) for the stock battery location.
I'd guess they see a vendor selling the Atx30 and it is known to work well so they stick to what is known.
I went with the Atx-20hd because it fit the existing battery holder in the rear bin. Installed last November and no problems or issues, works great. Wish I would have ditched the Odyssey PC925 long ago.
Jeez... I've had a plug in trickle charger/maintainer I hook up to a pigtail on my PC680 for years. I think it was 50-60 bucks, which i thought was a little steep for a plug.... the one for these batteries is $180!

I have a li-ion battery charger/maintainer that I use for BMW cars and it was $65 on Amazon. Have been using it since the f80 M3 came out since those and the m5 have li-ion batteries. Works great.
It's been over 4 years since this thread was started, and the AGM battery in my RX7 is nearing the end of its life. How are everyone's lithium batteries holding up? Is a single $400 lithium battery going to last me twice as long as two $200 AGM batteries?
Hi Scotty, I hope all is well. I have the Antigravity ATX30-HD, which was installed in 2020. It runs excellently, has no issues, and has 780 CCAs. It weighs only 7.8 lbs, a significant savings over an AGM battery. For what it is worth, I replaced an Optima AGM and have never looked back.
To recap, 5 years of use, equivalent or better CCAs, and about 75% weight savings.
Sweet baby Jesus. Over $600cdn for a battery?! If that thing doesn’t last 15yrs, I’d be upset! You’re 1/3 of the way there..
I’d understand if you’re racing and need every possible pound off the vehicle. As a normal street machine though??
Thankfully I don’t run the usual battery that came with our cars since space was reduced under the hood. She uses a Honda civic battery now. Lighter than the standard that came with the car. I understand it’s not as light as the antigravity one, but it didn’t cost me over $600cdn either..
battery is about 6-7yrs now without any issue.
I swapped to an ATX-30 in September of 2022. I've kept it on a lithium battery tender any time the car is home. No issues until recently.
Last fall/winter I had to keep the car at the neighbor's house for a couple months and it wasn't plugged into a tender. I took the car out a couple weeks after it had been over there (this was around Nov IIRC) and the battery was dead. I completely forgot about using the ReStart feature, so I just jumped it with a lithium starter pack. I was driving the car and had an overvoltage condition from the battery that popped the battery CB (300a IIRC), although the car kept running. I reset the CB, but it had blown one of my Spa dual digital gauges, and somehow it changed a setting on my Valentine One radar detector lol (still haven't figured that one out). I sent the gauge back to Spa and they said they can't fix it.
I put the car back over at the neighbor's for another month and a half or so and tried the ReStart that time, but it didn't work. It was too dead even for that. So I jumped it again and have kept it on the tender at home again since then. I figured it might be better after being on the tender for months, but it will still pop the CB on occasion, so I'm looking at going back to an AGM battery. It makes me nervous being lithium anyway.

I am pretty sure its amongst the cheapest 20lbs in weight savings you can get after removing everything that can be removed.

Could always try out Noco's lithium phosphate lineup. Lower storage capacity but high enough cranking amps to turn over a rotary. The price is amazing on these for what they are.
I've also had my ATX-30HD since 2020. I installed mine with a solid state battery isolator and it's been faultless. I've never charged it or put a tender on it and I've left it parked for 5+ months multiples times between starts and it always fires up like a champ.
Sounds good, seems like ATX-30 is definitely good for those who plan to drive once a week. Longer storage durations the HD would be the go to. But I also feel ATX-30 is the prime choice for guys who track the cars or really want that lightweight benefits. Thanks for chiming in. I expect my experience to be as good as yours. Great feedback.
Negative, longer storage durations means the restart battery is best cause it can shut off and then restart.

The ATX30 restart is a champ! I've had one in my own personal car which (sadly) has done multiple 1 year stints with the car off, wakes up every time zero issues. We use these on customer cars all the time. There are some new additions to the lineup if anyone is interested info@sakebombgarage.com but the ATX30 restart is our go to.
I just bought this battery last month. Can someone recommend a quality lithium charger for this? I use the Deltran Battery Tender 800 mA for my old AGM, but since this is lithium, I'm not sure if this brand is the "go-to" for lithium charging.
