Resurrecting an old and apparently rare MS part

After looking and watching for months for one FS I gave up and asked if ANYONE had one available FS. Only ONE surfaced. (THANKS BRIAN!)

....but it needed some serious TLC.
A before and after

A couple pics of it installed. Also a comparison of the size difference between the MS cap and the "Rotary13b"rotor shaped oil cap (now FS BTW). The MS cap is actually quite small and in part while I like it. The "Rotary13b" cap is nice but it is BIG and quite heavy!

As for how I cleaned it up....if it's aluminum, anything is possible. I am after all the "polishing fiend."

Regards,
Crispy
