respeed oil pedestal (2010 version)

Likely a dumb question, but just want to make sure...

I bought a respseed oil filter pedestal's so I can hookup an oil temp guage. It has 2 ports for probes, 1 is 1/8 npt, the other is 3/8 npt. The bigger port is offset to the side and has a small "channel" to it.

Does is matter which port I use for the oil temp probe? The big port off to the side is what has me confused, as if it is designed for a specific purpose?

It looks like a re-design to accommodate longer/larger sensors. With the original design, if the sensor is too long it will ground out on the center pedestal for the filter. With that, just use the port which accommodates your sensor the best.

The banjo bolt from the oil cooler connects to the larger port.

No, there's another port that's not shown in that picture for the oil line connection.
