Resetting the ECU after a mod??
Hey, just wondering has anyone ever heard of resetting the ECU after doing a mod to the car.
Coz i fitted a catback exhaust (only mod at the moment) today and my friend said its good to just disconnect the battery for about 30mins to reset the computer (ECU) so its doesnt run to rich coz theres alot more air flow now.
Does this actually help??
Thanks

Your friend doesn't know anything. The stock ecu won't change settings. It has a set of fuel "maps" that cannot be changed without "re chipping' the unit.
Ask your friend what happens when you add more more airflow. It means that there is now more air in the air/fuel mixture. This creates a leaner condition, which is the exact opposite of a rich condition. Don't take any more advice from your friend.

i paid about 850 oz dollars for mine, but that was a good price, usually about 1g just for a catback
