Replacing Lock Pins In Door
Has anyone replaced their lock on the driver or passenger side door?
I have a couple of questions for you that have.
Were you able to get a new lock made that uses your key? If yes, did you get it from the Mazda Parts Dealer or other?
Was yours salvagable? And if someone fixed it was it done by a locksmith or any other type of person?
Any info on this matter would help greatly.

I have taken apart one of these locks and here's my $0.02.
If you can get a bunch of salvage locks to scavenge parts from, I'd GUESS that you could find the proper parts to make your key work. The locks don't use pins per se... but rather sliding metal tabs... hard to explain.... but anyhow, they're not pins.. more like flat rectangles with holes cut in the middle.
I doubt you can order lock parts individually, so that's why I say you probably have to scavenge on your own. If you can order packs of lock guts, you could get a lock body from any old junk car, then use the proper new parts to make one that works for you...

Scratch- I have been wondering the same thing. My lock is all screwed up on the drivers side. It feels really ruff when I put the key in.
I saw a little while back someone was selling brand new lock mechs with new keyes and a new ingnition set as well. You might try and hunt one of those down.
