Replacing a lock cylinder

Hey guys, I recently had my car vandalized and they knocked out the drivers lock cylinder. I have not found it yet, but the chances of it being reusable are slim to none. I know I could probably search this, but right now it is just easier to ask. Can you order/ have a lock cylinder rekeyed for your car? All my other locks are ok, still amazed they did not try to steal the car despite taking the column apart. Anyways, if so, whats the cost and if not, what does a full set of new locks/keys cost?

Thanks as always. Can't wait for these parts to start showing up so we can catch the bastards.

A locksmith can rekey it for you.

You can order a full new set but I think it will be $400+. I installed a new set in my car (found an unused set cheaply) and did not enjoy it. Doors were easy but hatch and ignition were a pain.

If you only want to replace that one cylinder they are only $50-$60 new(with 2 keys).
I recently replaced one and got it from Ray Crowe(Mazda Malloy)

Hurm, I am going to check with a few lock smiths, because I really would like to keep one key.

When my key broke in the ignition I went to Mazda dealer so they could cut me a new key since I couldn't lock the car. Well found out that the passenger side had the original tumbler and the rest of the car didn't. I had the locksmith fish the key out and rekey my passenger door tumbler for $80.

On a related note, you can learn a lot by taking the lock cylinder apart and seeing how all the tumblers are marked. It gives you a complete understanding of how locksmiths can key ANY cylinder to fit any key. Pretty cool, really.
