replacing fuel door cable

Has anyone replaced a fuel door cable? I made an attempt to locate it after removing a lot of the interior at the rear in the luggage compartment, and I stopped as it looked like it was going to require tearing a lot more out. My latch is broken off and I assume that the cable is connected to it. Has anyone redesigned the system in this area to avoid the replacement of cable?
Thanks

I replaced my fuel door cable a couple of weeks ago. It's not terribly difficult and the manual describes what you need to remove very clearly. Basically any of the interior plastics from the center of the trunk up to the lever need to be removed. Good luck, just be careful not to snap anything.
