Replacing Coil packs and Crank Angle Sensor

Are both of these pretty much gonna be take off the old ones, put on the new ones? I figure the coil packs pretty much are, but the CAS Im not sure about. Could I actually just get the cas off without having to take the pullies off? IfI do have to pull the pullies off, do all I need to mark down is where it was when I pulled it off so I can put it back on in the same position? Is it that difficult a job to do or should I bring it into a shop?

Sounds like you're using a shotgun approach to fix your problem. Why don't you replace your coils first before attacking the CAS? Be sure to check for 12 volts and continuity at the coil connectors and eventually at the CAS.

You will have to remove the pulleys to get at the CAS; they can be placed on in only one position. You may want to tape them together before removing them for an easier install.

Another item that is related to the coils and CAS is the Igniter; this could be a source of your problems.

The job is not very difficult, but you have to remove several components to make the CAS removal easier. Be careful when you disconnect the CAS connectors the wires can be brittle.

I checked resistance on my leading coils and its out of spec. I'd rather replace all so I dont have to worry about them in the future. Im betting my CAS is the source of all my problems though. At idle the car feels a lot like my old truck did when I mixed the spark plug wires up on accident. I bet one of the CAS is bad and it retarded my timing like crazy.
