So my car fail MOT the other day on emissions, also the rear box is it RED hot the prob came out smoking lol... not sure ifs a normal RX7 thing.

Found out the guy before me had the cat smashed up inside, i do have a arch airbox and a Blitz backbox but the car is soooo loud. So hoping putting a new cat on will quiet it down and pass emissions. I found BM90188 which i can pickup for around 150ish. Wondered what OEM level backbox are recommended, would this do the job.

 

Get a stock main cat second hand, and buy a new Tanabe Medallion Touring or near new Racing Beat back box. The Apexi Noir and HKS Silent Power are also good quiet cat-back-exhausts which are still sporty.

 

Also get rid of the ARC airbox, that is one of the worst designs ever. Stock or modified stock or something that doesn’t allow superheated air into the inlet will be better for your engine’s longevity.

 

Would like a HKS cat back box, been looking for one. I have came across someone selling a blitz R backbox with baffle, and the cat is a silencer now, states ifs fairly quiet, nice tone. You think its a good idea removing the cat for a silencer.

 

Have been toying with that idea as i will never fit a inter cooler in with that shoebox in there, what about a couple of mushroom filters.
