Don't overlook the front roll-bar end links. Mine turned out to be loose and making clunking sounds, and made the front end 'feel' loose. I kept looking for the source and thought maybe I had a bad wheel bearing or ball joint or tie-rod end, but nothing I could find.
I had previously bought Mazdatrix's Heim-joint link set, www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=H-M013F so finally one day I went ahead and installed them. Only took about an hour.
This was the Fix and got rid of all the clunking and loose feeling, and also made a significant reduction in body roll, too. No road noise increase at all.
