replacing bushings/shocks... what else?
ok so over the next few weeks ill be replacing both the suspension/pillowball bushings and shocks on my 93 to help eliminate most of the squeaks and clunks... im putting the shocks on this week and wanted to know if theres anything else i should replace while im at it... oh ya 85k mile car
Don't overlook the front roll-bar end links. Mine turned out to be loose and making clunking sounds, and made the front end 'feel' loose. I kept looking for the source and thought maybe I had a bad wheel bearing or ball joint or tie-rod end, but nothing I could find.
I had previously bought Mazdatrix's Heim-joint link set, www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=H-M013F so finally one day I went ahead and installed them. Only took about an hour.
This was the Fix and got rid of all the clunking and loose feeling, and also made a significant reduction in body roll, too. No road noise increase at all.
