Replacement speakers??

I have a 92 FD Bose and i want to replace the front speakers. I did a search and found that the non Bose size is 6.5" but with mine can i just buy 6.5 and bolt them in to the factory mounts or would i have to get a different size, do i have to get new brackets or can i just bolt them in? Any help would be awesome

The Bose speakers are small (I think 4"?) and you don't have a lot of options in that size. For a larger speaker you'd need base/R model speaker brackets.

There's also a company in the US that makes aftermarket speaker brackets that are REALLY nice.

The Bose are very good speakers. . .usually the driver amps need to be rebuilt to restore the great sound they are capable of. I'm assuming from your post that you still have a Bose head unit and other Bose speakers center and rear?
