Replaced Rats nest, car wont start Please help!

I have been having random boost issues, so I purchased a used rats nest from the forums here that had already had the vacuum lines replaced. Well this weekend I took on the task of swapping them out, I finished this daughting task in about 8-10 Hours (yes this is the first car I haven ever personally worked on) ha

Well... when I had pulled the fuel lines I did plug them but I did manage to leak a fair amount of fuel on the ground. So I figured I would need to prime the lines before I could start the car, I turned the key so the fuel pump would activate and then turned it off and did that a few times... I think I flooded the engine ARG!! because there was no leaking fuel before I started this and once I was done I had a decent pool of it on the ground, I didnt see any of the fuel lines where leaking just fuel coming from under the UIM I am 100% I connected the 2 fuel lines back up and didnt get them mixed up.

So with all that being said do you guys think I flooded my engine or do I have a leak?

BTW the car turns over but its not firing

dont you love it when you want to fix something and end up creating a bigger mess!! lol Live and learn

Priming the fuel system alone doesn't cause flooding. Priming gets fuel into the lines, the injectors still have to open in order for fuel to get into the engine.

Flooding is caused by excessive cranking, or a really rich setup when something isn't burning the enough fuel.

I'd re-check your spark plugs and all connections, relays, fuses leading to them to make sure they're all firing.

Also check to make sure that you put the primary fuel line spacer back in.

Pull both your rails and lay them on something flat like a piece of wood, then prime the pump to check for leaks on the rails/injectors.

If no leaks, check your orings in the LIM and center iron as well as the spacer.

Has to be a leak somewhere otherwise you wouldn't end up with a pool of fuel. Usually you'll want to replace the o rings. Also there's a seal where the injector seats that you want to replace or at least make sure it's straight. Coat hanger helps with getting it in and out:

But these are kind of in the engine (I guess cranking could create enough pressure to push the fuel back out?), so probably your best bet is the fuel lines on top of/around the block.

To pull the rats nest you have to pull the lines to the fpr and fpd, as well as the 3 lines that enter the rats nest.

Well, actually it's not absolutely necessary because you can unbolt the fuel section from the main rats nest and just pull out the vac hose section.

Not sure what you did exactly, but most likely you got the feed and return mixed up going into the rats nest hard lines, or swapped them leading into the fpd and fpr. Either way fuel wouldn't flow correctly. Check to make sure the soft hoses come out of the secondary rail, into the return path on the rats nest portion, and then into the correct hard line that runs under the car.

You also have a leak now coming from under the UIM?

Gotta love post 666 btw.

I wont get to work on my car till saturday.. I live/work about hour 1/2 from my moms where I work on the car lol, that was one thing I was going to check, I was also going to make sure the spark plug wires are connected correctly

BTW I Thought maby because I flooded the car it might of leaked out of here... Ok I know these dont look perfect, lol I had my buddy make them while I was attatching the vacuum lines, they are under the UIM so you cant see them! haha

when you primed the motor for fuel, did u disconnect the crank angle sensors or pull the egi to stop the motor from getting fuel? or did u jumper the f/p in the diagnostics box?

did u apply any gasket sealer under those block off plates? they might not be sealing correctly if not......

I put a little bit a silicon on the top one, and the bottle one had a gasket.

They where just wide open as you can see from this pic
