Replace Door Pins?
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but both my doors don’t close that well. I need to slam them to get them to close flush. I figured it was just the door pins that needed to be replaced. So I called my local Mazda dealer and asked for a price on door pins and they said that there isn’t a part number for just door pins, I need to buy the whole hinge, and the hinges are $42 a piece. I really don’t fee like spending $168 to just to get my doors to close perfect. Is my Mazda dealership right? I thought you could just replace the pins in most cars? Anyone else have this problem that has tried to solve it also, please leave some input.

Look in the junk yards and snag the pins there if you need. I do however have my doubts as to the pins being the problem. I would bet that your hinges are infact worn out. The only thing the pins do is keep the door from over extending.
my driver side door takes a lil bit of ***** to shut it as well. how do you know its the door pins?!? do they look bent?!? Also, if you can get the stock door pins out, you might be able to take it somewhere and get a pin machined.
I dunno what exactly it is but on most every car if the door doesn’t line up its usually the door pins that need to be replaced. I know on most every car you can just replace the door pins. You wouldn’t be able to just look at the pins in the hinge and see that they are bent cuz it’s such a small difference. I think I might try to put shims in the holes for the pins, I have herd that works. The reason for shims is cuz the pin might not be bent just the holes in the hinge may have become elongated over time.
