Repaired Front Subframe

Since I had to remove my front subframe anyways to fix my VERY leaky oil pan seal, I decided to fix some damage that the subframe sustained a few years back when I unfortunately ran over some large metal object in the freeway. Basically, the rear horizontal section of the subframe split open a little bit (about an inch) and got dented in. So I took it to a welding shop and they filled in the damaged area for me. Although the welding shop did a great job trying to make the repair as pretty as possible, I decided to get out the air grinder/sander and sand down the repaired area to look as nice as possible.
Then I got crazy and thought that it might look good if I painted the subframe a different color, so I scuffed the whole subframe with sandpaper, wiped it down with mineral spirits, and painted it with engine enamel.
My fiance said that I'm crazy because I put so much effort into something that nobody else will see. But I don't care because everytime I get under my FD to change my oil, I'll look at it and think "hmmm, that looks pretty good"......
Here's a pic with my brand new oil pan and Garfinkle oil pan brace.
