Removing speed limit from a JDM?

Hi, I DID SEARCHED, I found a topic that said I need to cut a wire of the ECU to remove the speed limit, but this is WRONG, I cut it and the car won't start.

Is there another way except of buying an American ECU/Power FC, or adding anything like the HKS Defencer ???

Thats strange, I have always heard about "the wire" on the Japanese models working. I think your best bet is just to go with the PFC in this case.
