Removing the motor mount heat shield.

Have you removed the motor mount heat shield on the exhaust side of the motor? This would improve access but at what cost...since single manifold retain less heat would you still need the heat shield? I have the motor out and it would be easy to remove at this time.

Well if you'd rather have your motor mount more likely to fail, go ahead. How much more likely, I have no idea - but they are elastomer, and heat is not good for them. I'm leaving mine on since they're just a couple of 10mm nuts that are easily removed when the downpipe is out.
