Removing Facory CD Player
Removing Facory CD Player
I have the "removal tool", but no matter how I push the tool in, the deck doesn't come out with the tools. I've inserted them as deep as they will go, seem to get the click, but when I try and pull the unit out, it doesn't budge.
Any other tricks? I've tried pushing the tools toward the outside and to the inside, no movement either way.

The cd player and radio are held snug by this rubber stopper-shaped thing on the back of them, that inserts into the metal frame of the car. Its weird. Chances are the rubber part dug into the metal a little bit making it really hard to pull out (like mine). I used a screwdriver to slowly pry the cd player away from the radio while the din tools were in place and pushed to the side, so a 2nd person might help. gl

Gave up on the tools and took driver side dash through center panels off, dropped steeriing wheel down etc. to get the stupid thing out. IT SUCKED. Good luck!

Mine wouldn't come out either and I took the passenger panel off to help shake it around hoping it would break lose.
I ended up ripping the face plate off as it was loose from me trying any and all angles to get that damn thing out and then it came out nice and smooth. Amazingly, other than the already non-working cd player, I didn't damage a damn thing.
