Removing emission components with Pettit Unlimited ECU??

I have a Pettit unlimited ECU in my car, and recently I decided to go through all the hoses since finding a leaky coolant line. I replaced all fuel/coolant/vacuum lines at this point and am about to reinstall the UIM. I have been reading a lot on the FAQ's and saw a lot of people removing the AWS,EGR,air pump, etc. and blocking everything with the plate kit. This also eliminates some vacuum lines and solenoids. Thats sounds excellent to me, but I dont have a PFC and was curious if anyone knows if I will still get the "lumpy idle" that many have talked about? I know they say you have to have extra air at lower rpms' to compensate for the extra rich conditions, but I wasnt sure if the unlimited ECU would still suffer as well and I would have to get the PFC? I wont have the money for a PFC for a while and dont wanna screw anything up. If I can do this and tune it out the wierd idle with the idle adjust screw or whatever, thats fine. But I dont want my car running like poop.....if it will, Ill leave everything alone! BTW, I am on stock engine and twins, HKS intake, XS I/C, koyo radiator, and 3" turbo back with high flow cat and ported WG. Thanks!

Yes, the idle will be lumpy at a the 750-850 range. You'll need to raise the idle up to around 1000-1100 rpms to settle it and then it will be fine.

I just finshed removing the last of my smog stuff and the car runs great no codes yet but I did notice the idle was a little rough so I rased it and now it runs fine.

Mahjik, will it hurt anything if its lumpy and I leave it around 850-900 rpms?? Or will it just have to clean itself up after revving up a bit and run the risk of flooding? Also, does it hurt anything to idle it at 1000-1100 rpms or no biggie? Thanks a ton for the info guys.....I was really wanting to remove everything!!

The only risk is that it will seem the car will want to stall out at stop lights sometimes.

Nope, nothing bad. Heck, you drive your car around at higher rpms.
