removing Charge Control Valve?

How do you replace the Charge control valve without removing the air pipe its attached to? I am needing to switch out my broken CCA and need some help figuring it out. I already checked the FSM and its to vague. Before I go and remove the rear turbo intake pipe and remove the whole air pipe section its attched to. Anyone that can help?

I am having problems detaching the rod that goes through the pipe and connects to the actuator rod. I have the CCA lose but can not get the piece that is holding it it there. If any one knows how to get the rod and the actuator off the pipe I need your help? Otherwise I take the turbo intake pipe off and detach the section from the ypipe. I really dont wanna have to do that. Please anyone that has actually removed this before, tips and tricks please?

The rod going into the pipe body is held there by the butterfly plate. You have to remove the butterfly plate from the inside of the pipe by removing two screws that are accessible when the y-pipe halves are separated.

But don't do any of this while it's in the car - there are a few little pieces which can fall into the turbos and that's bad. Just replace the whole rear y-pipe section in one piece. The only slightly tricky thing is removing teh secondary inlet pipe.

Yes, just remove the y-pipe from the car. Easier (and safer).
