boost problem
I'm new to rotaries but have read the new owner stuff. I have a problem. When I hit boost in any gear 1st through 3rd boost is right below 11psi. But after I do that the next gear only gets about 2-5psi. But if I am cruising in 4th and downshift to high rpms the boost goes back to normal. Please Help

I think it will tell you that with your symptoms it's usually a check valve or leakage (popped hose) problem.
If you have a vacuum pump, tee it into a line leading to the pressure tank and see if it will hold pressure. Repeat with the vacuum tank and see if it will hold vacuum. Without a vacuum pump, you can also tee your boost gauge into the same locations and take it for a test drive. The vacuum should hold at 20inHg or close to it even when boosting. The pressure tank will read zero until you get into boost the first time, but from that point on there should be 8-10psi at all times.
If one of these isn't holding like it should, check the check valves on that pneumatic circuit and look for popped hoses. If the hoses are brittle, be very careful to not break any stuff, and consider doing the vacuum hose job listed in the newbie sticky thread / FAQ.
