Removed turbo timer & harness, car won't start
Okay,
So I removed a turbo timer, unplugged the harness, plugged the stock ignition back in and now the car will not start. The accessories and the PowerFC turn on fine with the key in the ON position, but when I turn the key to START, the accessories turn off (radio, boost controller) but the gauges in the dash remain lit and the PowerFC stays on. As if turning the car to START somehow turns off the accesories but leaves the car on?
thanks.

- The battery is brand new but did start the car fine before the timer removal.
- The PowerFC reads 12.3 volts with the key in the ON or START position.
- All fuses both in the cabin and engine bay appear to be in good working order.
- I have never had a problem with my starter (no wierd noises, or long starts)
- There is an aftermarket alarm installed. Has been on the car for 6 years and it is tapped into the ignition but it isn't reporting a problem
thanks.
when you turn the key to start does that 4ws light come on? check your clutch pedal ignition interloc. For some reason when I removed mine I had the same problem. I jumpered the harness and the car turned right over.
Had to adjust the interloc box to register the pedal being depressed again.
Its a longshot but worth a check.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I won't be able to check again until next Saturday when I can get back to the garage. I don't remember if the 4ws light came on or not. I did check to see if the PowerFC could see the clutch pedal being depressed and it could so I know the clutch switch is working. I'm not sure if that rules out the clutch pedal ignition interloc or not.
I appreciate the suggestion!

A turbo timer ends up being wired as an interrupt in some of your main ignition harness wires. You'll want to double check that all the connections were re-attached properly.
I'm missing something obvious I think. Pretty sure I am not going to be too proud when I figure out what I did...

The 4ws light stays lit when I move the key to the START position. With the key on the ON position the 4ws light is also on. I'm going to work towards jumping the clutch interlock switch but can anybody answer the following:
- Is it normal for the accessories to switch off as the ignition goes to START?
- Can the clutch pedal interloc system be the issue if the PowerFC shows the clutch being depressed and released?
- What is the normal behavior when you move the key to START without the clutch depressed (I realize the car doesn't start, but do the accesories stay on?)
Okay,
I figured this out in case someone else stumbles across this thread.
It ended up being a bad starter cut relay for the factory alarm. This is a super common problem that has never been an issue for me in the past. I guess it was just coincidence that happened immiediately after removing the turbo timer? I don't know, but while I was trying to figure out what was wrong I also noticed that my clutch switch was only working intermittently. I fixed that using the pen trick (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...=clutch+switch).
Thanks for your time.
