Removed the R1 wing and I think I like it

I had been thinking about taking off the R1 wing to see how it would look and I think I might keep it off. I found these little rubber plugs for the holes for now just incase I decide to put it back on. There are a few trouble spots in the paint from where the wing came in contact with the hatch. Excuse the broken driver side tail light, had a bit of trouble the other day. (Let me know if you have an extra you'd like to get rid of) Also sorry about the photo quality of the new photos. I used my cell phone.

Looks nice. I never was a fan of the R1 wing.

What size and offset wheels did you fit under the pettit flare's? 18x13?

They are 18x12 with a +18 offset.

+2, Details on the rims please. They look HUGE! Also, could you post more pics of your engine bay. I really like the color scheme. Very unique and different. Props to you!

It was stock on the R1/R2 models only. The base/touring/PEP models didn't have a wing at all (except as a dealer-installed accessory).

The car does look nice. I think now it looks even wider...

Heres another image I have laying around. The only thing that has changed in the location of the AST.

Thanks for your comments guys. I hadn't saved the hanger from the stock one so I had to order a new one. The dealership I went through isn't my normal one and they've been jerking my around. I just put it on last weekend and was hoping to have it all together by now but the left hanger to taking the load for the time being.

Great looking car! I'm a fan of the wingless look (I have a touring model without the wing). The rear wheel flares look great, the whole car looks very clean. I also like the engine detail, matching it to the wheels looks great.

I don't care for any wings/spoilers on the FD. Much cleaner looking imo without anything back there.

I think it looks good either way. just out of curiousity, how much HP are you putting down to the wheels?

When I had it tunned the motor was pretty new so I left it on the low boost setting. Hoping to get it retuned soon at a higher boost but either way the HP level will probably be left up to guessing. I don't get traction in 1st or 2nd. While the could be a number of different variables I still feel its quick.

I know it makes a huge difference but I've always been on the edge about buying an after market front bumper instead. I feel that will be happening within the next couple weeks.

I'm sorry dude, but FD's look totally plain without a wing. It's almost as bad as a second gen without a wing...

the shape of an FD is the definition of sexy in the automotive world....it needs nothing....the wing and lip are just ricer cheese

The only wing that I like is the 96 spec dolphin tail. Everything else just looks like crap. What bumper are you leaning towards? MS GTC or Origin, those are my votes.

I think I'm starting to agree with you. My BB use to have no wing but I put one on and now I'm starting to wish I hadn't cut all those holes in the deck. Really nice car you've got there!
